Anytime anyone says they're engineering something as ridiculous sounding as a "permanent majority" (Karl Rove) they're fixing to learn a thing or two about the words "permanent" and "majority".

The GOP stands for the way America is supposed to be. It stands for family values and morality and has the courage to admit so in cynical times. It has become all too easy to cast aside our deeply held values in favor of the cool hipsterism of the 21th century but the fact remains that it is on values like family, honor and democracy that this nation was founded.

These are real things.

They aren't the vague notions of promise but things we have and can count on.

Just because the world is going through complex changes (and we GOPers know it is) is no reason to allow a country's tradition, pride and safety to lapse while we frantically search out the next big thing.

What the democrats seem to forget is that the US is still the leader of the free world, we will determine what role we play in the future. The democrats wish to shirk that responsibility and turn our role into a single voice in a storm of dissenting opinion. We cannot afford to do that to ourselves or our world.


If the planet really is in the kind of climatic crisis that they claim it is then it is only through strong and sure leadership, rooted in a foundation of morality, charity and freedom, that the world may be guided out of it.

We were created in God's image and given domain over the land and the animals but it is up to us to repair any damage that we may have done. This isn't going to be accomplished through empty promises nor the wonders of non-existent technology. We must lean on our past and the strength therein for the solidity we need to confront the future.

Anything else is foolish and naive.
