Regret

As I've written before, Democrats will regret embracing the expansion of executive power because a President Obama will find his administration undone by an "abuse of power" scandal. All of those powers which were necessary to prevent the instant destruction of the country will instantly become impeachable offenses. If you can't imagine how such a pivot can take place then you haven't been paying attention.

Yup.
That's a big, deep tool box that contains some tools never used before.

I've been paying close attention, but I'm a bit of a dense, heavy. I do not understand specifically what "impeachable offenses" you refer to that will destroy Obama and/or our country.
Trogdor, further explanation and elaboration would be helpful for those, like myself, voting to re-elect G.W. Bush for a third term this coming November.
Thank You.
Sincerely,
Dense & Heavy

It is only with American-sacred-Republican-prayers that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, will graciously crown, John "Gun Lovin" McCain, America's next dictator and chief Iraqi war criminal.
God Bless America and God Bless our next pre-millennial, computer illiterate leader, John McCain. May he bring radical change to CIA sponsored Tiger-Boxes across the world and enforce America's unconstitutional, preemptive, unilateral violence against the world to shamelessly enslave and control the nameless, faceless masses of poor, inconsequential countries we never learned the names of...Amen

Obama's announcement that he supports the bill that will give telecoms retroactive immunity for illegal wiretapping is rather depressing.

Details are important.

Why not a perpetual motion machine, Senator? Or why not reward that guy that says we can run our cars on water? That guy that the idiots on Daily Kos throw in my face every time I try to explain the price of gasoline. We can run our cars on water. Look at this YouTube thing that proves it. See, he's putting water in that car and there he is driving away. It's all a big oil company conspiracy.

Batteries are heavy because things that have high capacitance have high mass. Smaller batteries will be heavier. There's already a prize for a small, lightweight battery and it's a lot more than $300 million... it's a world market for the thing. But research on new batteries has slowed because the optimal advances in efficiency POSSIBLE amount to 10% or so in weight and size reduction and the energy consumed in manufacture.

But don't let that stand in the way of you setting every kook with a garage onto the task so you can get elected president.

Get ahold of that guy who runs his car on water. I'm certain he's right on the cusp of a new battery design. One made of air. One made of wood. One blessed by God.

That $300 million is aimed directly at the crackpots. If you want better batteries as soon as possible, immediately distribute that money to college programs with research specific to battery design.

Don't offer it as a reward.

You senile old bastard.

I don't know trog. The benefit of a reward is that if no one succeeds, you don't have to pay. Most institutions i've dealt with change their priority once they receive funding from the original goal of the project to the goal of securing more funding.
