I fail to see how anyone in this country believed the lie that there was ever a seperation of church and state. At best, there was an agreement. Realistically, it's a cancer grown strong in the very bowels of "the united states".

It's was our inception, and it'll be our undoing if it already hasn't.

Interestingly Obama is leading in this poll too.

Military Personnel Giving More $$$ To Obama

quote:
That Obama attracts support from some in the military is evident in dollars and cents: Among people who have donated at least $200 to a presidential campaign this election cycle, Obama has collected more than $327,000 from those identifying themselves as military personnel, while McCain has collected $224,000, according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission data by The Associated Press.

I sent him my last dollar once I saw the whole Jeremiah Wright thing explode. Not because I was shocked about the reverend (I actually agreed with some of his sermons). I was shocked that when these phony politicians get hammered because of religion, they head straight back for religion. I just want ONE to say,

"Look. I'm just not that religious. Never got it. Sorry. Next question."

Watch the interview part:

George Will on The Colbert Report

Does what you ask.

Though compromised slightly by "conservative".

Elegantly succinct answers. Favorite excerpts: "the crooked timber of humanity". "Organize our animosities". "The difference between truth and confusion".

Oops . . . not a politician. Still.

They could still get the votes of most religious people (in that most of them aren't nuts). Just say this:

"I like church, though. I'll go to a different church or mosque or synagogue, you know, temple, whatever, every week. Food's good. The food is always good. Religious folks know how to cook!"

And people would love him. For being a good guy and honest and open minded.

I actually had a job offer for offshore Norway. Sounded pretty good. Great pay. But then that "nearly certain death" part caught my eye.

I didn't say I thought Obama would do that. He obviously doesn't have the stones. And per your link, Sean "Diddy" Combs is a marginally retarded asshole who has nothing in common with the African American people he tries to lead every election.

Obama should tell him to shut the fuck up.

My original point was fundies think the antichrist will be "a charmer". It would have worked better straight after your "Religious folks know how to cook!" thing.

Thing is, although fundies are as you say, they are also a tiny voting block who have been sucked in by the GOP money folks (who are probably atheists). The vast majority of religious folks are less... well... stupid.

And Combs is just like Wright, riding on Obama's phenomenon.

Not augmenting it.
