Another fallacy debunked.

The media is in the tank for Mcain... not Obama.

One might consider, however, the relative fulcrums by which these comparative assessments are made in terms of the 'more news isn't necessarily good news' logic.

Obama's negative critiques generally see-saw on a higher moral and factual basis than those of McCain's, which mostly revolve around fluff/distortion/his obvious incapacity, and such.

Remember, early 'liberal' criticisms of Obama were fluff like 'Is He Black Enough'? Regharding a guy whose blatantly hlaf-white, that is, half-American caucasian and half-African negro.

Dominating the news is rarely a bad thing in an election cycle unless it's in terms of false illegitmate black child polls or verified reports the fellow's closet-gay (or should I say RepublicanWink.

Mal- Wart tells their employees how to vote.
quote:
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is mobilizing its store managers and department supervisors around the country to warn that if Democrats win power in November, they'll likely change federal law to make it easier for workers to unionize companies -- including Wal-Mart.

In recent weeks, thousands of Wal-Mart store managers and department heads have been summoned to mandatory meetings at which the retailer stresses the downside for workers if stores were to be unionized.
Welcome to the wal-mart world order.

Of course everything mal-wart has to say is true.

Anyways, let's get real. All they're trying to do is keep it close in the polls going into the election ...and then steal it in the vote counting process. I mean, come on, they got it down pat now. Easier than ever. Insecure electronic voting. Brillant! This country can develop a nation wide system of tracking every single freakin ATM transaction AND print a freakin paper copy of every single freakin damn cent transacted, 99.99999999% accurate, BUT they tell us they can't deveolp a secure e-voting system for the sacred act of casting a ballot in this former democracy called America that doesn't mysteriously bestow thousands of votes to the corporate gangster candidate in a toss up election? Give me a freakin break. I got some land in fla. you might be interested in if you believe this election is going any other way. It's going to be stolen... all they got to do is keep it close. They've done it before. Freakin Twice! It's documented. You can look it up.

God, I hope I'm wrong about this time. I'll gladly stuff myself on crow if I am.

The thing is though, the elections (rigged or not ) were still way too close for me to believe this country isn't operating out of sophomoric fear and nationalistic zealotry.

We've regressed since the 90's, or at least I perceive that we have. basically I suppose this is a conservative country.

It makes me frustrated to see such potential blindly wasted in apoplectic rage and stupidity.

I don't know but I believe you're right about this. Every little way to bork in a close race will be tried.
And then? What will "Amerika" do about it?

It looks (by the polls) that McCain has a good shot at catching up.

People I know believe we do not live in a country of frightened, terribly stupid children.

These people are wrong.

We deserve what we get, we should be enslaved, subjugated and made to serve our betters.

I think it's more a case of stupidity than being a conservative country.
quote:
In the 1950s when Adlai Stevenson was running for president of the United States, a woman who was an enthusiastic supporter came up to him and said, “Mr. Stevenson, every thinking person will be voting for you.” Stevenson replied, “Madam, that is not enough. I need a majority.”

Some things never change.

The two aren't necessary mutually exclusive.

I remember being amazed at the outrage at children seeing that Jackson woman's nipples at a football game, and that they same people screaming about that had no problem showing the filth in that torture porn Gibson movie about 'the Passion.'

Whether the U.S.A. is stupid is debatable, but the conservative factions are obvious and vocal.

Yeah, you're right, the country's conservative... and ...stupid. Stupidly conservative.

Which is unfortunate because America has a strong liberal tradition that's been pretty much swiftboated into oblivion. The Constitution is an example of a liberal doucument that conservatives have been forever trying to shred. With GWB they finally succeeded.
quote:
As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.

George Washington

Laws for the liberal education of youth, especially for the lower classes of people, are so extremely wise and useful that to a humane and generous mind, no expense for this purpose would be thought extravagant.

John Adams
