"The Ministry of Defense requests that civilians do not comply with the orders of the army or police on nightly patrols unless they are accompanied by coalition forces working in that area."

Weird. Mad. Take your pick.

Windows on Mac

I don't think it's weird, but wouldn't classify it as either bad or good news.

Good because it shows that it's possible. Bad, because if people did their fucken homework, they would realize that they are paying for the Apple "name" and not for the OEM components that can be found in PC's for much cheaper.

If someone managed to get OSX running on PC architecture, I would adopt the OS - not the hardware. Proving once again that Apple has to meet the price point of PC's for them to adopt - effectively killing the Cult of Mac (how can you be a Cult when you are mainstream).

I don't think the point is to convert PC users. This development is a courtesy for Mac users. It's good news for Mac users who want to play the games that don't come in OS X version!

What I want to know is - what happens if someone dials the number by mistake?

Poetry harmful to kids?

Second story down.

"Having Shakespeare or similar highbrow books about bodes well for children's achievement... Having poetry books around is actively harmful by about the same amount"

Hehe, I enjoy prose much more than poetry, and hate studying poems at school, so this made me smirk. But they seem to contadict themselves with the Shakespeare comment, as Shakespeare wrote poetry too.

There is disagreement as to whether the test was intentionally supposed to run this long or not, but either way, it's some pretty hilarious footage:

Frau Bach wrote some of Johann Sebastian's music, maybe.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as weird, but what the hell.
