As an ex-Star Wars collector I can reveal some of the secrets of the geeks. The "hot wheels guy" is the lowest of the low in terms of collectors, below even the Beanie Baby collector. They always have mullets, they always wear black, they nearly always wear dark glasses. I'm surprised that either his hair or clothes weren't described as "greasy". Normally they are either rat-faced or weasely as well.

Here's my guess on the minnows and the egg...
It was a sick or injured duck that couldn't get out of the water, but still was in the process of laying an egg. Somehow, several very small fry managed to swim up into the oviduct of the duck (either by the natural route, or perhaps through the wound?), where they were caught up in the albumen and encapsulated into the egg, onto which a shell was then placed normally. Or, more likely, it's a hoax.

Military retirees again call for Rumsfelds head, but the real weird news is that his own commander of the Army refuses to provide a budget .

I'm racking my brain trying to think of the bad words in 451 without luck. At least the alternative novel the prayhard kids read instead seems interesting.

At some point, technology news stopped making sense. quote: Reduced functionality is already a part of the Windows XP activation process, but Windows Vista will have a reduced functionality mode that is enhanced, Microsoft said on its Web site on Wednesday.
Enhanced reduction? quote: Users of non-genuine Windows Vista software will also be notified by the appearance of a persistent statement in the lower right hand corner of their desktop that reads: "This copy of Windows is not genuine."
Why would someone making fake versions of Windows include that? quote: A Wall Street analyst said on Wednesday that Microsoft will most likely ship the Windows Vista system on time and meet its deadline for both corporate and retail consumers.
Wasn't Vista due out something like two years ago?
