Splendid! Smile

Hang on - three versions? There's the original version, the Director's Cut - what's the third?

-----------------------------
"It may be said with rough accuracy that there are three stages in the life of a strong people. First, it is a small power, and fights small powers. Then it is a great power, and fights great powers. Then it is a great power, and fights small powers, but pretends that they are great powers, in order to rekindle the ashes of its ancient emotion and vanity. After that, the next step is to become a small power itself."

The original (US) version, the international release, and the director's cut, if I recall correctly.

Edit: Which I think would require someone to be truly over-the-top in love with the film to shell out the bucks, but that's just my opinion.

I love the film.
And I never bought it on DVD, because of the lack of extra material.

I assume this is the release I've been waiting for.

Good news if it happens:

Emissions-free power stations by 2012.

Good news if anything useful comes of it:

Lawyers to probe claims of Bush's abuse of powers.

I think "emissions-free" is a bit of a... well, lie. They are, as usual, conveneniently ignoring the emissions required to mine, process and transport the coal, the emissions required to make the energy to "produce hydrogen from coal", the emissions required to power the capture of the CO2, and finally the emissions required to transport that CO2 and put it in the ground.

Oh. Well, that's left me looking rather foolish then. I'd better go post this in Bad News, I guess.

Glad you're here to set me straight, Krad. Wink

Sounds like good news to me. Let's hope that the next asshole who takes his place is easier to eliminate.

Imagine: A thousand Buddhist eyes staring at you from across a rice-paddy field, the zeal and hunger in their eyes. And one lifts his fist high in the air, raising the battlecry, "EMBRACE THE TAO!!!!" Then organized chaos ensues.

My mother-in-law showed me that story. We had a good laugh about it, too. Recently we took in a puppy (1/2 beagle, 1/2 boxer- named her Abby) and the little bitch is fearless when it comes to our two cats, who utterly despise Abby. She'll get up close to them, presumably to play, and they'll just hiss/growl at her and occasionally swat a couple claws at her nose, but it doesn't deter her in the slightest. So we read that article about the treed bear and figured, in the grand scheme of things, Abby has it pretty good.
