Bush has screwed things up so much that the Iraqi's have passed a New Constitution. (Congrats to them)
How is that EU constitution coming along? LINK |

Well, gee. How many countries are in Iraq? Oh, let me take a guess at this...One?
How many countries are in the EU...? Bit of a poser, that, considering people keep joining the damn thing. Let me ask you this (if you, or anyone knows). How long did it take America to bang out their constitution, exactly? (Keeping in mind that country was founded in 1776 and the Constitution Convention adjourned in 1787). I, mean, c'mon. Try convincing just one other person of your views on this board. Now try convincing 15+ people and you will get an idea why writing a comprehensive constitution for the EU is a difficult task. But, hey, doesn't seem to stop the EU from functioning and Iraq's constitution doesn't seem to stop the "insurgents" from p0wning. Was der hahn ?!?!? |

Yeah, I suspect their constitution is written in invisible ink, on the back of a paper tiger.

-single handeldly making violence a legitimate means to settle disputes between parties in the new millenium. ie: keeping war going when it's a caveman's tool.
-happily breaking international law, setting that system of agreements back a few decades at least. -alienating almost every country on the planet, making the u.s. seem like a bunch of vigilante fools. -rewriting science so that scientific american calls this administration perhaps the worst scientific thinkers in american history. -ignoring the causes of environmental disasters like the hurricanes, and by inaction doing future generations massive harm. -Promoting a notion of authority that is solely based on the threat of violence. ie: 'so what if we broke the law, who's going to punish us?' This is thinking from the wild west where the guy with the most guns wins. In truth, America will stand before world law and be punished. History will see Bush as a villain who did massive harm to mankind. -promoting a view of America as a nation of stupid people, that will take years to live down. -spending way too much to achieve way too little in Iraq. While some progress has been made, it doesnt take a crystal ball to see a nation that will be in turmoil for generations. Violence increasing. War is a shitty way to make peace. |

You know what, fuck it. I'll come down to your level and speak in a language you can understand.
I'm in a leveling something kind of mood. might as well be you. Shut the fuck up you stupid piece of ignorant, moronic and complete waste of breath. I wouldn't waste a single byte if I didn't actually give a shit and really did hate america like you are so convinced. So why don't you unburry your head from out of your ass and get a clue. You have no idea about the damage extent your fabulous president is spreading on a global level and all in your name. Because you live in a democracy and he is president elect. When someone in Iraq loses their child from a stray boolet they're not gonna think "Oh, but not all american citizens voted for Bush. They aren't to blame for the fact I have lost my child/brother/sister/ entire family. They aren't to blame I have to survive in a state that exists in disintegration. They sent their soldiers here to liberate me." Right Loser? What a fucking loser. |

Yeah, they really should be trying harder to win over the blind, sad and full of shit people. I'll bet torture would work wonders in converting hatred into partiotism. What do you think, Liberals Are Losers? ¸.•'`™ |

The cynic in me recalls a piece I read not too long ago about the glee with which the conservatives were looking forward to setting up a friendly, most importantly free-trade friendly, government in Iraq. Sure, maybe it was all evil liberal spin, and really this is all about Democracy, but somehow the money angle seems so plausible...
I'm continuously astounded by the level of defensiveness of conservatives. It it the media's job to criticise the government, not to praise it. Is this why the right wing of the US sees liberal bias everywhere they go, because there's not enough praise? Anyway, good for the Iraqis. I look forward to them forming their own government, the US troops returning home, and the Iraqi people establishing their own sovereignty again. I am an optimist. |

Not hate, my man. Anger. They are angry and self-rightious. History will tell if they are justified, and many more will die before we know, if we ever know.

I am not sure how many more Volunteers will die. Perhaps if the Libs would get behind the prez and support him just a bit, then things would move along a lot smoothers and less people would die. (But they hate America Too much) And the Really Disgusting part about it is....... Less people dieing would be good for Bush and would be bad for the liberals, So that will never happen now will it. Liberals want the highest death count they can get. Absolutely Disgusting!!! |

There is absolutely no logical connection between political affiliations and death counts. People die in Iraq because Bush sent our military there. The physical manifestations of warfare do not distinguish targets by ideology. When bombs explode they affect everything within their radius. When rifles are shot they will pass through any flesh in their path. Seriously, if you're going to keep huffing Freon, stop posting here. *************************************************** * MEB_Registered: 20122002 |

I don't see how cheering on the President is going to make much of a difference at this point, or ever would have, really. I can't see how the criticism he has endured has had much of an effect at all on policy, let alone an effect leading to more deaths. Perhaps you have an example?
This is an interesting topic, despite the original framing. For example, I just went wikipedia surfing and eventually ended up at this article: http://www.opendemocracy.net/conflict-iraq/iraqiconstitution_2925.jsp Most of the articles seemed markedly pessimistic about the Iraqi constitution's chances for promoting stability. The inclusion of the word Democracy is good, but maybe it's a little early to celebrate? P.S. You might want to cut down on the Liberals-Hate-America shtick. It is getting so over the top it risks running into parody. If nearly half the people in the country (or more than half, if you consider that people who didn't vote are pretty likely to be dissatisfied) hate that country, then I'd say there's something pretty seriously wrong with the country as a whole. Luckily I don't think this is the case. |
